Offer of the Seasons

Trees dripping with red-gold leaves; the ground is blanketed in dizzying color. The air is crisp and cool; upturned cheeks are warmed by the soft golden glow radiating from an endless, periwinkle blue.

Pale pink petals dance on a soft breeze carrying the sweet scent of lilac. A symphony of birds turns the morning into music; the rain has stopped but glittering pools reflect the early sunlight.

Streaks of purple and orange race across the ice blue sky, bleeding into one another in an explosion of rich and breathtaking color. The world is quiet, muffled by the soft, powdery white; crystals glint as they pirouette to the ground. Hearths promise the warmth of roaring fires; hot cider and festoons of evergreen offer comfort and coziness.

The morning stillness is broken by the buzzing of cicadas. Sunlight drips through the full, lush green of towering trees, creating patterns on the soft forest floor. The heat is enveloping, a live thing emboldened by the hour.
